In this video we take an in-depth look at Tom Jobim's One Note Samba, "Samba de Uma Nota Só".
How is it that a melody with so few notes (just 2 in the A section) can sound so interesting?
Its all in the harmony and rhythm - we'll check this out together in depth.
We'll be exploring two ways of arranging this piece, making it suitable for beginners, intermediate as well as advanced players. We'll first cover it in E major; this version is great for beginners as it uses open strings and no bar chords. We will then be exploring it in the key of Bb, often played by guitarists and most commonly found in lead sheets.
